iChat's transcript format is really infuriating, and all of the utility programs I've tested are really buggy or unhelpful. One was a great looking input manager haxie that was intended to teach iChat to save text logs, but it hasn't been worked on since 2003, so it fails to even install, to say nothing of interfacing correctly with iChat.
