Whew!
When I got home today, I found that I had received a bulky envelope from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. after opening it rather nervously, I discovered that they have accepted me for their graduate Physics program! That still leaves me with 8 other schools to hear from, but just knowing that I've got someplace to go, no matter what else happens, is a great relief. I guess now I'll actually have to look up a bit more about U. Wisconsin!
