More Settling In
First, with respect to the site: I've added a table of webcomics that I read to the links section of the sidebar, including a list of which days I usually check them on. (Þ is for Thursday; one of my professors at school gave me the idea by labeling Thursday Θ on calendars, but I decided that we english speakers should make more use of old letters derived from Norse runes.)
Next, with respect to school: today was my first day of classes of my final undergrad semester, which gives me a funny feeling. Still, I'm hoping to make the semester a good one; I'm taking the continuations of both Quantum Field Theory and Video-game Programming, which I enjoyed during the Fall. Unfortunately, I'm also having to take both an upper level German class and an upper level Economics class to fulfill my distribution requirements. I'm not really very good at either subject, so both may be painful. Still, I'm nearly done, so I feel hopeful that I can get through it without whining too much. Lastly, my research advisor tells me that pretty soon he and his colleagues will actually want the results of the work I'm been working on for the past year and a half. This is alarming both because rather suddenly I've got deadlines, and because I'm rather nervous about the validity of my results. I've had so many false starts and problems not found until months later that I don't really trust my own work. At least, since it's only from and undergraduate they probably won't give my results too much weight, and if one of the post-docs is able to reach similar results, there will be good reason to believe them. If his results don't agree with mine, then everyone will listen to him, which is really for the best.
